my temperament

Wednesday, September 14th, 2005

Jaga sent me this link to www.keirsey.com to find out what my temperament is.

The results are in and my temperament is that of Artisans. [could it be because i'm ma-arti?(^o^)]

Artisans are the temperament with a natural ability to excel in any
of the arts, not only the fine arts such as painting and sculpting, or
the performing arts such as music, theater, and dance, but also the
athletic, military, political, mechanical, and industrial arts, as well
as the "art of the deal" in business.

Artisans are most at home in the real world of solid objects that can be made
and manipulated, and of real-life events that can be experienced in the here
and now. Artisans have exceptionally keen senses, and love working with their
hands. They seem right at home with tools, instruments, and vehicles of all
kinds, and their actions are usually aimed at getting them where they want to
go, and as quickly as possible. Thus Artisans will strike off boldly down roads
that others might consider risky or impossible, doing whatever it takes, rules
or no rules, to accomplish their goals. This devil-may-care attitude also gives
the Artisans a winning way with people, and they are often irresistibly charming
  with family, friends, and co-workers.

Artisans want to be where the action is; they seek out adventure and
show a constant hunger for pleasure and stimulation. They believe that
variety is the spice of life, and that doing things that aren’t fun or
exciting is a waste of time. Artisans are impulsive, adaptable,
competitive, and believe the next throw of the dice will be the lucky
one. They can also be generous to a fault, always ready to share with
their friends from the bounty of life. Above all, Artisans need to be
free to do what they wish, when they wish. They resist being tied or
bound or confined or obligated; they would rather not wait, or save, or
store, or live for tomorrow. In the Artisan view, today must be
enjoyed, for tomorrow never comes.

Artisans make up between 15 to 20 percent of the population, which is good,
because they create much of the beauty, grace, fun, and excitement the rest
  of us enjoy in life.

Is it accurate enough? What do you think?(^_^)

Amazing Grace

September 3 and 4 I went to Pangasinan for field integration as a requirement for my CD 11 (Intro to Community Development) class.

I was looking forward to going to Anda, Pangasinan, but the date was just so inconvenient.  Sarah, Aika, Aura and I (in particular) had so much to do for monday.  We had a paper due for FLCD 135 (or so we thought) we had Daily Logs and Individual Children’s Logs to make for FLCD 172 and I had a report in PanPil 19 to prepare, plus some activity sheets for my 2 year olds.

The night before (Sept 2), we (Sarah, Aika, Jez and I) crashed Lester’s place, because it was practical to go from lester’s house because it was only about 5 minutes away from Philcoa (our meeting place).  We were to meet there before 4 in the morning @_@.  Unfortunately for the 5 of us, we were only able to get some sleep at about 2 in the morning. So we all went to Pangasinan lacking sleep.  It was about a 5 hour trip to Pangasinan and we were only able to sleep for about a total of 2 hours.

When we finally got to Pangasinan, we were broken into groups.  Lester and our other guy classmate were paired together, Aika and Jez were another pair and Sarah, Aura and I and another girl classmate of ours made a group of 4.  In short, my friends and I were assigned to different barangays in Anda.  Lester was assigned to Dolaoan with (C/K)arl; Aika and Jez were assigned to Ma-Long and Sarah, Aura and I were assigned to Batiarao.

At Batiarao, Sarah, Aura and I slept at the house of the chairman of the People’s Organization in Batiarao.  There we met Kuya Ferds (who is a senior brod of our blockmate) and Ate Marian.  Both of them are senior BS CD students doing their fieldwork.

So anyway…the three of us went on a palay field adventure! We went to the house of the barangay captain of Batiarao.  In getting there, we went through a muddy palay field.  Actually, to get to Tatay Vergel’s house we had to pass through a muddy field, and some yards with goats, dogs and the yard in front of Tatay Vergel’s house had Damulag the Carabao guarding the front door.  So we practically passed through mud 4 times.  But i didn’t care…it was fun walking in the mud.  But if you’d ask me to walk in mud here in the city? aah…that’d be a different story!

When we got back to the Bayan on Sunday morning, our group was the first to reach the UPSARD headquarters.  Before heading back to Quezon City, we planted some mangrove seedlings first.  Actually, they planted..i kinda mutilated them! hahaha..i don’t know how to plant kasi eh.  So to make myself useful, I just shovelled some soil onto the wheelbarrow.  haha..at least i made myself productive!(^o^)

We left Anda at about 2:30 and i was already worried about all the stuff i still needed to do when i got home.  At 6 we were still in Tarlac, and I literally cried.  I was so frustrated and worried that I’d get home too late to do anything.  In my hopelessness, I forgot that the Lord was in total control of the situation.  And in my forgetting Him, I said some unpleasant words.  Afterwards, I was reminded that He was in total control and that the build up of work was also my fault.  I remembered what my friend texted me (about the work accumulation being my fault and that it could have been avoided).  So i surrendered everything to God.  I acknowledged the fact that I was lacking.  I admitted my fault, and just asked Him to take over. (that’s one thing i have difficulty doing).

I got home ( Las Pinas) at about 10 pm already and immediately started working on the activity sheets.  I was able to do some logs.  I fell asleep accomplishing only the handouts for my PanPil19 report and the activity sheets for my kids.  When I went to school the following day, God had already planned His great surprise for me.  My FLCD 135 paper’s deadline was moved to thursday and so was my report in PanPil19! And what’s more was that my FLCD 172 prof narrowed our Teacher Made Material to 2! All that grace in one day!!! No wonder God permitted my late arrival at home…! He knew I needed to rest that’s why He let me fall asleep!:)

His grace is truly amazing…truly truly amazing!!!!
